About me
There wasn't one moment in my life that made me want to paint. Rather, it was a sequence of events. On the one hand, I had already had my first experiences with oil paints and - yes, Bob Ross really - as a teenager. However, when I started studying design, my creative energy was focused on that and painting disappeared from my life for many years.
At one point, when I was working as a UX designer for a start-up in the art sector, I came across the works of Camille Pissarro. I was fascinated by his impressionistic rendering of the Boulevard Montmartre. The cityscape is dominated by geometric shapes. But the color has a very organic feel. A great tension, while the rendering of the city remains unmistakable.
Later, it was a work by Jeremy Mann that I had seen, purely by chance, somewhere on the net. Similar principles but executed with a completely different, contemporary technique and power. I remain a big fan of his cityscapes to this day.
And finally, it was a visit to a museum with my wife in Tokyo that made me pick up the paintbrush again. Initially intended as a balance to all the work on the screen, it quickly developed into something more. After about 5 years of practicing, I was able to make my first sales.
In addition to the originals, I am happy to be able to offer prints. I believe in the democratization of the art market and think that art prints are often underestimated. Executed to a high standard, on canvas and framed, it is only inferior to the original in the fact that it is reproduced and therefore not unique in its execution. However, the artist's idea, conception and, to a large extent, technique remain unique. On the plus side, there is not only the significantly lower price, but also the flexibility in size.
